A Catholic Christmas Gospel Prayer
A Christmas Gospel Prayer
Jesus, conceived by the Holy Spirit, pray for us that we may keep You always in our hearts.
Jesus, Emmanuel-God is with us, pray for us that we may share Your love with others.
Jesus, Son of the Most High, pray for us that we may follow You forever.
Jesus, Son of David, pray for us that we may recognize and follow You as our King.
Jesus, whose reign will be without end, pray for us that we may enjoy Heaven with You.
Jesus, who knows nothing is impossible for God, pray for us that we may trust in You completely.
Might God, who helps the lowly, pray for us that we may have compassion for others and help others in need.
Holy God who is merciful, pray for us that we may show sincere mercy to others.
Merciful God, who lifts the lowly and puts down the mighty, pray for us that we may be humble and lowly.
Merciful God, who feeds the hungry, pray for us that we may see the needs of others and help them.
God who keeps His promises to Israel, pray for us that we may share in the fulfillment of those same promises.
God, who sends tidings of great joy, pray for us that we may have Your joy in our hearts and share that joy with the world.
God, in whom we have nothing to fear, pray for us that we may follow You without fear, even to death.
God, to whom we give glory in the high Heaven, pray for us that we may one day sing Your praises with the angels in Heaven.
God, who bestows peace on earth to those on whom His favor rests, pray for us that Your favor will rest on us and we may have Your peace upon us.
God, who sent His only begotten Son to us for our salvation, pray for us that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.
Amen.
A Christmas Gospel Prayer is an original prayer by Blessed Catholic Mom. It may not be copied without the permission of the author.
A Christmas Gospel Prayer relies on the Gospels of Matthew (chapter 1) and Luke (chapters 1 and 2) for inspiration. The names and attributes of God are found in these Gospels. The prayer recognizes who God is, who Jesus is, and what God does for mankind. It also recognizes God’s promises to His people and the fulfillment of them in Jesus. May our faith and hope in God be steadfast. May we regularly ask for His prayers that we may live our lives as He calls us to. Amen.
I hope you enjoy A Christmas Gospel Prayer. I really enjoyed writing it. I wanted to write a Christmas prayer so I opened up the Bible to read over the passages about the Annunciation and the birth of Jesus. I wrote down the passages that stood out to me; in particular, the names, titles, and attributes of God, and then wrote the prayer inspired by them. It turned out completely different than I expected, but just the way it was supposed to!
