Hebrews 4: 12 Verse Reflection: “The word of God is living and effective…”
Hebrews 4: 12
The word of God is living and effective,
able to discern
the reflections
and thoughts
of the heart.
Hebrews 4: 12
Hebrews 4: 12 Bible Reflection
When I read a passage from the Bible that stands out to me, I like to break it down.
My Hebrews 4: 12 Bible Reflection:
God’s Word is Jesus. Jesus is the Word. He is the Word made flesh.
Jesus is living and effective.
Jesus is able to discern the reflections and thoughts of our hearts.
There is a lot going on in that one passage! God is so good. He is living and effective. He is not ineffective in any way.
We can trust Jesus and ask Him to help us to have pure and holy reflections and thoughts of the heart. He will help us.
What are some ways we can do this?
We can memorize this verse from Hebrews. We can say it when we notice our thoughts are not ones Jesus would like. We can work to have thoughts that are holy and pleasing to Him-thoughts about ourselves and thoughts about others.
We can pray every time we notice a thought that is not one God would smile upon. We can ask God for forgiveness and ask Him to help us to have good and pleasing thoughts.
We can trust in God to help us to do this. We know He loves us without condition. We know He will help us to be more like Him. It is a good and worthy endeavor to strive to be more like God in our lives.
