Litany of the Saints Prayer to celebrate All Saints’ Day
Litany of the Saints Prayer
The Litany of the Saints is a prayer that dates back to the 500’s. It is a beautiful prayer wherein we ask for God’s mercy on us and ask many Saints by name to pray for us. It is usually prayed during Mass as a song. The cantor sings or chants the petition and the people sing or chant the response.
As we pray the Litany, we ask God to be merciful to us and for our Mother Mary, St. Joseph, and all angels and saints to pray for us. The prayer is a reminder that we are all part of the same holy Church, with the same goal of Heaven.
