O Lord, you created us in your own image,

Lord, have mercy.

O Lord, You created man and woman to unite together to create new life with You.

Christ, have mercy.

O Lord, You knit us together in our mother’s womb,

Lord, have mercy.

O Lord, You you know the plans You have for each of us before we are ever born.

Christ, have mercy.

O Lord, you number our days.

Lord, have mercy.

O Lord, You know the numbers of hairs on our heads,

Christ, have mercy.

O Lord, You know the wicked from the tenderhearted.

Lord, have mercy.

O Lord, You know those who are oppressed at the hands of others.

Christ, have mercy.

O Lord, You see into the hearts of all men.

Lord, have mercy.

O Lord, You know who stands for justice and who does not.

Christ, have mercy.

O Lord, You are the Creator of all.

Lord, have mercy.

O Lord, may we love others as You have called us to love.

Christ, have mercy.

O Lord, may we protect all who You have created in your image.

The Prayer for the Protection of all Human Life is a prayer to remind us that all human life is sacred. God created us in His very own image and likeness. He calls to be like Himself-to be life-giving and to love others, not to destroy life. In our world humans destroy life through abortion, euthanasia, the death penalty, human trafficking, abuse, murder, and more. Besides killing the body, we can harm the soul of a person by our actions and lack of love for them. May God have mercy on us. May we work to show the love of God to others and to protect and show dignity to each other, our brothers and sisters in Christ who have been made in the image and likeness of God.
