The Regina Coeli Prayer in English
Regina Coeli
O Queen of heaven, rejoice! Alleluia.
For He whom thou didst merit to bear, Alleluia.
Hath risen, as He said, Alleluia.
Pray for us to God. Alleluia.
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin. Alleluia.
R. For the Lord hath risen indeed. Alleluia.
Let us pray.
O God, who through the Ressurection of Thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ, didst vouchsafe to fill the world with joy; grant, we beseech Thee, that, through His Virgin Mother, Mary, we may lay hold to the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
The Regina Coeli prayer in English is a short prayer that can be said by oneself or in a group. The V. stands for voice-for the person who leads the prayer. The R. stands for the response. The Let us Pray section is for everyone to pray together.
Although the Regina Coeli prayer refers to the resurrection of Jesus, it is a great prayer to say at any time-not only during Easter. It is a reminder of our faith in Jesus as our Lord, risen from the dead for us. We remember that Mary is our mother, too. We can call on her in prayer and she will hear us.
If you are looking for more prayers to help you grow closer to our Lord you can find more in the Prayers section. There is also a section focused on Mass Prayers.
