Pray for your spouse.
Pray for your spouse as you pray each mystery.
The first Sorrowful Mystery is the Agony in the Garden. Jesus sweat blood as He contemplated dying for the sins of the whole world. Pray for your spouse, that he will seek Jesus as his role model and work to have a self-giving love for others like Jesus does.
The second Sorrowful Mystery is the scourging at the pillar. Jesus is cruelly whipped until He is almost unrecognizable. Pray that your husband may see what Jesus has endured for him and love Jesus even more.
In the third Sorrowful Mystery, the crowning with thorns, we remember how the soldiers created a crown made out of thorns and pushed it on Jesus’ head, puncturing His skin and causing Him even more injuries. Pray that you and your husband will always be pure in thought as well as in word and deed.
As you pray the fourth Sorrowful Mystery, Jesus carries His cross, ask God to help your husband to bear with strength the crosses he endures as a faithful follower of Christ.
During the fifth Sorrowful Mystery, the crucifixion and death of Jesus on the cross, pray for your spouse, that he will seek out Jesus at the foot of His cross and strive to live a holy life.
