St. Michael the Archangel Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.

Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God rebuke him we humbly pray

and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God,

cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world

seeing the ruin and destruction of souls.

Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel prayer was composed by Pope Leo XIII in October of 1884. It is a prayer asking St. Michael the Archangel, the leader of the good angles in Heaven, to protect us from the Devil and all evil spirits whose aim it is to draw souls away from Christ.
