Ascension Prayer
Lord, just like the Apostles, I have many questions for you.
I seek to understand Your will for my life and Your plans in the world.
Help me to not let my qusestions and concerns get in the way of my faith.
Lord, You are mighty and powerful.
May I have full faith and confidence in You always.
May You, Holy Spirit, fill me with Your love, strength, and steadfastness
so I may share my Catholic faith with others as a witness for You.
By Your Ascension, Jesus, may I learn to look to You for guidance,
but not wait as I look to You and not wait to take the actions You call me to take.
May I trust in your Resurrection and not hide in fear.
May I keep growing strong in my faith, bolsterd by the Sacraments,
and trust in Your help and Your mercy as I strive to live the life You have called me to live.
May I follow You closely and faithfully as I await Your return
or my meeting You upon my death.
May I remember Your Ascensionn into Heaven as a promise that You will come again
and that You have a plan for me to fulfill while I am on earth.
May I strive to be in union with You so I may fulfill Your plans for my life
with joy and faith.
Amen.

The Ascension Prayer is a reminder that we need to look to Jesus for guidance, but not stand around looking after Him. We need to faithfully live our lives, trusting in Him to help and guide us, knowing that one day He will come again and one day we will be in Heaven with Him. May we strive each day to live the life God has called us to live, fully trusting in Him. The Ascension of Jesus can be found in Acts of the Apostles chapter 1, verses 6-12.
The Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus: How to Practice the Sacred Heart Devotion by Rev. John Croiset shares the message Jesus gave to St. Margaret Mary about His Sacred Heart. Fr. Croiset was the spiritual director for St. Margaret Mary for 43 years. The book also contains St. Margaret Mary’s prayers to the Sacred Heart and the Sacred Heart Promises.
