The Nativity of Jesus Prayer
Lord, You promised Adam and Eve You would send a Savior to Your people.
Before You sent the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, betrothed to Joesph of the house of David,
You sent John the Baptist to tell us to “prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.”
May You help me to keep straight my path to You.
To show Your favor upon Mary and all of Your people,
by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Word came into existence in the womb of Mary.
As as the angel Gabriel told Mary, You “will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High.”
Of Your kingdom there will be no end.
You are called Jesus because You save us from our sins so we may one day be in Heaven with You.
Jesus, may I be aware of my sins, sorry for them, and trust in your mercy and forgiveness.
Upon going to the city of David called Bethlehem, Our Savior was born.
Jesus, may I contemplate Your love for me and humility to come to us as a baby.
After the Heavenly hosts sang of God’s glory and praised You,
the shepherds made haste to see You, Jesus, with Mary and Joseph.
They adored You with joy and awe.
May I seek You, Jesus, with joy and glorify and praise You as the shepherds did.
Jesus, You are the Word who became flesh to dwell among us and save us.
May Your grace and truth permeate my soul.
As I contemplate Your nativity, Christ Jesus, only-begotten Son of the Father, may I worship You, love You, and trust in Your infinite love and mercy all the days of my life.
Amen.
